 LogD 1.00.4 available

May 7, 2002

LogD version 1.00.4 is now available for win32. I can't currently compile on linux but i'm working on it so please be patient. If you have LogD version 1.00.2 or 1.00.3 then you will need this update to solve the UID = 0 problems that have been occuring.

Ptahhotep has also given me verison 1.5 of his PTB plugin, he strongly suggest that you read the documentation at the top of the .sma before you use it, but you all read the manual first anyway right?. You'll find both the updated dlls and the new plugin on the downloads page.

Damp uses LogD to provide it's events, but Damp was also hardcoded to use the CS 1.3 injury messages, this prevented it from working on CS 1.4, i've updated and recompiled so it now works (at least for me) the new binary is on the Damp page so those of you who use it should get the new dll. Again due to my linux incompetance i've no linux binary yet, but i'll fix that as soon as possible.

 Still More Plugins!

March 19, 2002

Some enterprising scripters from the German Admin Mod forums have spent their time writing up lots of new LogD plugins for your delight. They are all available on the downloads page right now so check them out.

With these additions it's becomming increasingly possible to do a lot of very interesting things with the Admin mod + LogD combination. Keep scripting guys.

 Updated and New plugins

January 28, 2002

I've updated all the plguins so they are Admin 2.50.26 compatible now. If you have a problem with Invalid line continuations when you compile your plugins then you need to read the top of the Admin mod plugins download page. The error and fix are explained there.

I have also added two new plugins. PTB (Ptahhotep team balancer V1.4) and a VIP announcment plugin. Both are Cs specific so those of you who run CS servers might want to give them a try

 Updated LogD and Website

January 22, 2002

Having noticed Kndroc has been dragging files out of his mailbox i decided to go looking in mine. Several days later i'm back with all those plugins people sent me and i was too lazy to get round to posting. Sorry.

Also because LogD is now somewhat out of step with the latest metamod i have recompiled the dll with metamod 1.11, this should eliminate any version warnings (at least until the next metamod update). The only changes are a windows version resource and a single small max UID length bug fix. All functionality remains the same so if you don't want to bother upgrading there is no real reason to. Thanks go to Djeyl from the French language Admin Mod site for compiling the linux binary.

   Another thing....
Those of you who frequent the Admin Mod boards may have Damage Amplification but i've realised that we don't push these things at all so people aren't go to hear about them. For this reason i've decided to put linkage to Damage Amplification on the LogD front page. Hopefully it will be useful to some of you.

 Updated Scripts

December 15, 2001

I went through my mailbox and posted scripts in the downloads section that had been mailed/forwarded to me. Sorry about it taking so long. Life has been busy :)

On the topic of updating scripts, Sank (from the AM boards) solved the killstreak crash issue. I guess the virtual machine which runs the scripts has a memeory leak when functions have a prototype that is missing a paramter. Our mistake, I just wish the compiler would have given a warning about it so all of this could have been avoided. As a side note killstreak is now in a zip and includes a readme on res files and the killstreak sounds that have been missing for a while.

 Updated Forums November 19, 2001

Many thanks to cfgn for providing LogD with some VBulliten forums :) The forum links have been changed accordingly so just click away for the new addy. The current forums will stay open but only as an archive. We encourage everyone to use the new forums as they not only look better but allow file attachments!

 LogD 1.00 Released (win) October 14, 2001

Well the documenation still isn't finished but oh-well...hehe. Anyway go to the downloads page to grab it. Some distribution changes have occured.

  1. Plugins do not ship with LogD. Due to the fact that those plugins were simply AM scripts, and LogD doesn't require AM scripts anymore, it seems like better policy to keep the plugins seperate from LogD so updates can occur independantly of each other. The plugins will still exist, they are just seperate links on the downloads page.

  2. We moved from a huge readme to online html help. The instructions for LogD are here. In the readme, the link is given as well. Hopefully this will allow us to constantly improve the documentation seperate from releasing new packages for download.

Now I've got some explaining to do. This release is Windows Only. Now before you try to spam me or whatever your develish mind can think of, there is a reason. Bud-Froggy, our linux man on the team, doesn't have a working linux box anymore. So basically we have no-one to compile the source into a working LogD version for linux. If you want to compile for us, be our guest. The source (for whoever wants it) is here for anyone trying to compile it. Anything linux needs for compiling (so the make file and rules.depend) im pretty sure is out of date. In the version jump i reorganized a LOT of code and renamed files around. If i get time ill see if i can update it the best i can.

Well thats all i got to say. Feel free to comment all you want on it in the forums. Oh yeah LogD actually has some helpful server-side commands now. Its in the manual, so even if your understand logd go read the manual in the commands section and check them out.

 Deleted !!! October 10, 2001

Well that's what seems to have happened, the downloads seem to have been deleted by someone, let this be a lesson to you all, never give a folder open to the public world deletable permissions, it's just not helpful.

   !!UPDATE!!

Thanks to various users i've got all the files back, Thank you to everyone who contacted me with files, you're a fantastic help guys.

 LogD and HL 1108 September 23, 2001

As you've all noticed LogD requires updating to work with 1108 properly. We are and have been working on this and it will be released to you as soon as we feel it is stable enough for public release. If you can be patient and keep checking back for an update.

My work on the Science and Industry version of Logd has unfortunately slowed to a crawl because of some problems creating the new log entries, i will get back to it once S&I is working on HL 1108 patch though.

The next version of LogD (quite a jump in versions) will be much more polished than the previous one hopefully. Kndroc has been improving just about everything and apart from a few small coding issues left to deal with it's all looking very promising and thanks to the efforts of the guys in our forums we should have a wealth of plugins available to you, Hopefully i'll come up with an easy way to update the plugins page so you don't have to copy paste from the forums for your code.

 Downloads Update August 11, 2001

Just a small update this time, I thought you might all like to know that i've updated the downloads page. It now has the plugins available to LogD users for download. If the links don't work e-mail one of us or contact us on the forums.

 Status Update August 1, 2001
No we've no given up already, Unfortunately real life has been intruding on our plans so things have just slowed to a crawl. No real work is going on because i'm not much of a C++ coder and i'm sure that you'd all rather the next version worked. :-)

However i'm writing up the docs (spell-checking occasionally as well) and for the next release we'll have a nice .chm for you windows guys and plain html for you linux guys unless you have a prefered format i can create.

We've got plans for the next version and people are working on plugins. The KA plugin has been re-written by joeatrr and is available on the forums and hopefully once i've got the hang of WinSCP through the downloads page.
